I wasn’t always a dog trainer.
Growing up with ADHD, I often felt like I was wired differently. I’d try to sit still, follow the rules, stay focused, but my mind had other plans. I wasn’t lazy. I wasn’t unmotivated. I just didn’t fit the mold. School, jobs, routines, they never clicked. I always felt like I was fighting my own brain.
Then I found dogs.
Not in some fairytale way, but in the kind of real-world moment where something finally made sense. I saw myself in those misunderstood, high-drive, “difficult” dogs. The ones that needed more than a treat and a pat on the head. They needed structure, challenge, clarity, and respect.
That’s when I realised I wasn’t broken. I was built for this.
My ADHD became my strength. The hyperfocus turned into hours of learning and obsessing over behaviour, drive, and training methods. The restlessness became fuel for the energy I bring into every session. The sensitivity helped me read dogs before they ever made a sound. I could see the discomfort in a whale eye, the stress in a lick, the tension in a paw lift.
Now I run Stone’s Strides K9, helping people truly understand their dogs and helping dogs finally feel understood.
I specialise in behavioural issues, working breeds, misunderstood powerhouses, and the owners who love them but don’t know how to handle them yet. Whether it’s reactivity, resource guarding, frustration, anxiety, or just chaos at home, I bring structure, fairness, and results.
If you’ve ever felt like your dog is “too much” — too wild, too stubborn, too reactive — you’re in the right place. I’ve been “too much” my whole life.
Let’s turn that into a strength.
